playdates & popsicles, two of my son’s favorite things….

….and he is my favorite thing. This site is dedicated to him and all of our adventures as we learn and grow together. Filled with the little moments that become big memories

Tip Tuesday #1

It’s Tuesday! Time for a tip

Today’s tip of the week- have kids? Utilize your Public Library!!

In our household, we LOVE the library. Ok well, Logan and I love the library. James doesn’t get to go to the library with us often.

We recently moved to a new area where the libraries are the BEST.

I was unaware at just how much the library offers.

Logan and I are frequent attendees of the library story time programs. We will travel to other library branches within our city to attend the other story times. Even though our home library branch has the best storytime librarian!

Here are some resources the library has

  • Book holds (I just found out about this and it’s game changing…. You can search for books online and place them on hold, the librarian will set them aside for you and when you go into the library they’re ready for you to pick up! I think I’m late to the game on this one)
  • Reading programs (where kiddos &adults win prizes and free books. We are currently in a raffle to win state park passes!)
  • Wi-Fi/computer/printer/scanner
  • Camps/Clubs
  • Contests
  • Demonstrations/activites (the other week we had wildlife animals demonstration)
  • Story time (our personal favorite)
  • Movies/books/books on tape/kindle books
  • Renting state park passes

There are SO many more…. Obviously most of the ones I listed are aimed at people with children. There are so many great resources for teenagers and adults as well!

As Ron Weasley said in, “ Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets”—“When in doubt, go to the library.”
